There are 93 million people using the older iPhone, two years after it was launched in the US. On the 12th (local time), we can see that the waiting demand for the next generation iPhone released by Apple is accumulated accordingly.

According to Consumer Intelligence Research, a market researcher on the 11th, as of July, there are about 141 million iPhone users in the United States. Of those, 48 million (33%) are users of 'iPhone 7' and 'iPhone 7 Plus'. The remaining 93 million users are users of 'iPhone 6s' and 'iPhone 6' that have been released for two years. Given that most smartphones are contracted for a two-year contract, they can be seen as a standby consumer for the next generation of iPhones.

Specifically, the iPhone 6s series still accounts for about 47 million users, accounting for 34% of all iPhone users. In the iPhone 6 series, 39 million are active products, accounting for 27%. The previous model users recorded 6% of the total, with 7 million users. The average size model users accounted for 62% of the total iPhone users (88 million users), and the large size users of the Plus models were 53 million (38%).

On the other hand, IT media Nine to Five Mack reported that Apple's next-generation iPhone was named "iPhone X" on Tuesday (October 10). They said the information was leaked in the latest iOS mobile operating system, 'iOS 11 GM (Gold Master)'. The two names of the upgraded iPhone will be 'iPhone 8' and 'iPhone 8 Plus', he added.

It is different from the speculation that the three new products launched by Apple will be 'iPhone 7s', 'iPhone 7s Plus' and 'iPhone 8'. This year is the 10th anniversary of the launch of the iPhone, and it turns out that Apple skipped the 'iPhone 7s' as it changed its iPhone release cycle to three years.

Along with this, it was leaked that the iPhone X will be equipped with a 3D face recognition scanner for unlocking instead of the existing fingerprint recognition touch ID. Initially, Apple was reported to have abandoned it because of a technical problem when it tried to install display fingerprint recognition. The iPhone is also the first Apple smartphone to feature an OLED display and will feature a stainless steel and bezel design with a glass front.
